Saturday Nights
When I was just a boy of twenty-one And every Saturday night, that’s the night When anybody who’s anybody’s having fun. We’d spend all day getting sharp as a razor Like something from a magazine Then we’d all get to drinkin’ and everybody thinkin’ We‘re just as cool as anything you’ve seen. We didn’t have a clue as to what we were missing ‘cause right around the corner from the old saloon stood a little brown church with a Sunday morning session that was stretching from nine to noon. My friend said “Hey Lar, why don’t you stop in over there and see if my suspicion is right? ‘cause I’ve heard their Sunday mornings are cooler than our Saturday nights.” |
