Kim she calls her friend from the exercise gym, Her friend he calls some people from the little church choir And Lord, this thing’s just burnin’ on fire. In really nothin’ more than just an hour or two Well Brady and the lady they’re the front page news When you fan a little flicker it burns to a flame It’s got eveybody talkin’ but no, they’ve got nothin’ to say. Come early next mornin’, when Brady steps outside Sees Suzie standin’ at the foot of his drive He says “Good mornin’ neighbor, what a pleasant surprise Hey, ain’t it great to be alive?” And Suzie says “I just feel so sorry for your beautiful wife I’m lookin’ at a man who just throwin’ away his life. Yeah just the shame alone should drive you out of your mind And Brady just stares ahead, he doesn’t get a word she said He stands there for a minute, then slowly just turns away And Suzie says “Yeah, you’ve got everybody talkin’ But no, you’ve got nothin’ to say.” |
